Interior Design Assistant/Associate Professor
The interior design program is a four-year, professional degree program that leads to a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design degree. The program balances theoretical and pragmatic approaches delivered through a combination of lecture and studio courses. The program is accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA) and the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD). Candidates must possess a terminal degree in Interior Design or a design-related discipline (Ph.D., MFA, M. Industrial Design Assistant/Associate Professor
The Industrial Design program challenges students through industry collaborations and studio projects to develop a comprehensive knowledge base and skill set to succeed professionally. App State IND students’ work has been recognized in both national and international venues including WantedDesign®, SaloneSatellite® in Milan, Designboom® Mart Copenhagen, ICFF in New York, Dwell® on Design in Los Angeles and the High Point Furniture Market. Additionally, the program has recently conducted sponsored studios with US Forestry Service, Kikkerland, Davis Furniture, GreenLifeTech, Reebok, WestRock Packaging, Wilsonart, and Eastman Chemical. The program currently offers international experiences abroad in Belgium and Prague. A terminal degree in Industrial Design (Master’s or higher) or a related field is required. The department especially seeks candidates with potential for nationally recognized creative and/or scholarly research in their field, and professional design experience. Interior Design Practitioner in Residence

Teaching Assistant Professor of Design Foundations
The department seeks candidates with expertise in Design Foundations. They will be responsible for teaching introductory classes in the fundamentals of design sequence and for collaborating with other instructors in the foundations program. The classes in this area serve students in Interior Design, Industrial Design, and Apparel Design and Merchandising. The courses may include but are not limited to: Visual Literacy 1 (2D); Visual Literacy 2 (3D); and Digital Design. Collaborate with faculty in a coordinated, mutli-section program including shared curriculum development, alignment of learning outcomes and contents and participation in program development. Participate in providing course materials and sample work for NASAD and CIDA accreditation. Actively engage in teaching and student development. 3/4 Lecturer - Design History - Online
The department seeks candidates with expertise in Design History to apply for the full time (3/4 lecturer) role. They will be responsible for leading, developing and teaching online courses for the Department of Applied Design, including but not limited to design history surveys and history of interior design and architecture surveys. Participate in providing course materials and sample work for NASAD and CIDA accreditation.
