Facilities

The Apparel Design & Merchandising (ADM) Program is housed on the lower level of Reich College of Education at Appalachian State University. The facilities are designed to support both the creative and technical aspects of apparel design, product development, and merchandising, providing students with access to industry-relevant tools and hands-on learning environments.

Our dedicated spaces include design studios, sewing and construction labs, textiles and materials classrooms, and digital workstations equipped with the latest Adobe Creative Cloud software and specialized industry specific design software that includes 3D apparel simulation technology. Students work in a professional, collaborative setting that mirrors real-world industry environments and prepares them for contemporary fashion and retail careers.

In addition to lab and studio spaces, students have access to flexible classrooms, display areas for visual merchandising projects, and digital presentation spaces that support portfolio development and critique. The program also hosts Showcase, an annual runway exhibition highlighting student designs and creative work across multiple levels of the curriculum.
