Teaching and Research Interest(s)

  • Dr. Nimet Degirmencioglu is passionate about the textiles and apparel industry, especially when it comes to social innovation. She worked in the textile industry in New York for more than 15 years. During her graduate studies, she explored business and marketing strategies in the global retail landscape.  For her dissertation, she explored the motivations and practices of fair-trade companies in the United States.  She has Six Sigma Green Belt certification and is proficient in predictive statistical analysis and visualization. Her research interests are sustainability, social responsibility, sustainable fashion consumption, retail and consumer studies in unique markets, social entrepreneurship and social innovation, and digital marketing.
