Raised in the foothills of North Carolina by a family of artists, Ali has always had a deep-rooted passion for expressing herself through creation and innovation. Her love of construction began at the age of six by making hand-stitched purses out of upholstery scraps. Since then, Ali has progressed her sewing skills, but her enthusiasm for working with unconventional materials remains.
Ali's garments feature painted canvas, which she collaborated with her father, Kevin Aita, to create. In addition, she includes a reflective material that is intended to represent broken mirror shards. Her line was inspired by the theory that the "expression" aspect of art is to be interpreted as the outer manifestation of an inner state. In other words, Ali hopes that her collection “reflects” a piece of herself.
